During the conference on the topic of world music and MPEG-7 meta data services
Artspages and the
4FO
AG announced at the
WOMEX
2006 in Sevilla their partnership.
Artspages already started a partnership
with the Ghana Association of Phonographic Industry (GAPI) under the umbrella
of the African music development project
Afrofile.
One key element of this project is to provide a whitelabel superdistribution
solution based on the
PotatoSystem
for individual African artists enabling them to reach the diaspora market abroad.
A
first shop with music
from Ghana is already online. Artspages believe in this concept which will
be very attractive for other developing countries leap-froging into the digital
online industries.
The
WOrld
Music EXpo (WOMEX) is the world´s premier networking point exclusively
dedicated to world, roots, folk, ethnic, traditional, local and diaspora music
of all kinds. Eleven WOMEX editions in Berlin (1994,1999,2000), Brussels (1995),
Marseilles (1997), Stockholm (1998), Rotterdam (2001), Essen (2002,2004) and
Sevilla (2003,2005) have affirmed the value and potential of networking across
borders, be these musical, political, cultural or commercial. The 12th WOMEX
is from 25 – 29 October 2006 in Sevilla.
